FAQ

What should I know if I get into an accident?

If your vehicle is not safe to drive at the accident scene, follow these steps:

    1. Call La Costa Towing at (760) 730-0348.
    2. If the Police are on the scene, tell them you want your vehicle repaired at Toyota Carlsbad Collision Center (this enables your vehicle to be towed only once-a savings for your insurance company).
    3. Contact your insurance company and report the damage and that you have selected Toyota Carlsbad Collision Center for repairs.
    4. Inform your insurance company where their claims person can see your vehicle (it is not mandatory for you to use the "drive-in claims service" if your insurance offers it).
If the accident is your fault, your insurance company will cover the damage to your vehicle and the other party. If the accident wasn't your fault the other parties insurance should cover your damages. Try to collect from the other insurance, this will entitle you to a rental vehicle and you won't have to pay a deductible.

Why should I choose Toyota Carlsbad Collision Center over other Body Shops?

We've been around since 1983 and we meet the industry's leading standards, including:

  • A third party customer service monitoring system to ensure your repair experience is exceptional.
  • Toyota-trained managers and technicians who have the knowledge and expertise to repair your vehicle right.
  • A state-of-the-art repair facility that is equipped with the best tools and equipment.

Toyota Carlsbad Collision Center knows your vehicle and we know you want it fixed right the first time…so that's what we do! As we like to say, "You bought your Toyota for a reason, let's keep it that way!"

Isn't anyone who works in a Body Shop trained adequately to fix my car?

Just as there are various levels of training and expertise in most professions, collision repair technicians can achieve the pinnacle of professional training by becoming certified. We employ the most Master Certified Technicians. They complete hours of hands-on training and must pass rigorous exams through the Toyota and Lexus factories. Our technicians are also certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). And, as an I-Car certified facility we are known for our operational efficiencies, reduced cycle times, and minimized repair mistakes.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes! We repair our vehicles to meet or exceed all manufacturer repair standards. This allows us to offer our Limited Lifetime Warranty on the following:

  • Craftsmanship of body and metal repair
  • Against defects and product failures of the vehicle finish
  • Craftsmanship for mechanical repairs

We also offer a warranty on OEM Parts per manufacturer's written warranty. Sheet metal warranties vary from one manufacturer to the other.

Please note: We are not able to guarantee or warranty LKQ or Aftermarket parts. The distributors will be the only warranty with these parts. In addition to not supplying a warranty, we can not guarantee fit or finish.

My insurance company recommended a different Body Shop. Do I have to go there or can I still come to Toyota Carlsbad Collision Center for my repairs?

Your insurance company cannot tell you where to repair your vehicle. Some insurance companies will attempt to convince you to fix your vehicle at their preferred shop- possibly a shop that gives the insurance company special deals, which, unfortunately, can come at the vehicle owner's expense and could compromise safety and quality. If this happens to you, let us know. Our professional claims handlers can guide you through this unfortunate practice and help remedy the situation.

The quote my insurance company gave me is lower than the one I got from Toyota Carlsbad Collision Center. What should I do?

Just bring the insurance estimate in with you and we will go over the differences. If necessary, we can notify the insurance company of the changes we need to make. Generally this just takes a phone call and we will bill your insurance company for the supplement at the completion of the repair.

What happens if more damage is found?

Estimates written without a thorough disassembly of the vehicle often have overlooked or "hidden" damages. If this happens, we will document the damage and discuss it with you and the insurance company. The insurance company may want to come see the damage, which could potentially delay the repair process. These supplemental charges are itemized, authorized and billed along with the rest of the repairs. Please note that any additional parts found to be damaged will have to be ordered which may also lead to delays.

When and where do I pay my deductible?

Your deductible is paid directly to Toyota Carlsbad Collision Center when your repairs are complete. The insurance company pays us for the work performed minus your deductible.

Can you save me my deductible?

No. And neither can any other honest repair facility. It is against California State law.

Will you coordinate a rental car for me?

Sure will! We can coordinate with any rental agency you wish. We even have the Toyota Rent-A-Car (TRAC) program available! Hertz is also located in the premises for your convenience.
