Toyota Camry Takes Trophies at the 2018 One Lap of America Road Rally

Recently, three teams of Toyota engineers surprised a bunch of folks attending the Tire Rack One Lap of America Road Rally by earning quite the haul of awards. Most notably, the 2018 Toyota Camry finished the eight-day, 3,675-mile race ahead of several BMWs and Chevrolet Camaros -- as well as several Chevrolet Corvettes!

All in all, Toyota had quite the performance at the event, finishing with trophies for first and second place in the alternate fuel class, third place in the mid-priced sedan class, and third place in the economy class. Engineering teams from the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky (TMMK), Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana (TMMI), and Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia (TMMWV) facilities demonstrated the beyond-real world driving abilities of the 2018 Camry, 2017 Prius and the 2013 Avalon -- with all finishing on the podium ahead of vehicles deemed more "race-ready."

This was the fourth year that the TMMK team participated in the rally, with both the TMMI and TMMWV teams making their debut runs. All teams operate under the Toyota Engineering Motorsports banner, with the belief that lessons learned from the racing environment can be applied to helping them create better cars.

At Toyota Carlsbad, we're proud to serve Toyota fans from the San Diego, Oceanside, Escondido and San Marcos areas.
