We Care, You Choose: Nominate Here!


Background: Each year, Toyota Carlsbad holds the We Care, You Choose Campaign, where we ask our San Diego community to nominate and vote for their favorite local charity to be awarded up to $5,000. As a part of our Loving Care initiative, Toyota Carlsbad awards four charitable organizations in our area with a $2,500 contribution, to be potentially matched by Toyota USA for a total of $5,000 per charity. This process is fully done through our social media channels (our blog, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Instagram), so stay tuned and keep checking in!

How to Nominate: Simply comment on our We Care, You Choose photos with the name of the charity you’d like to nominate and why you feel the deserve the funds. You can also send us a message over Facebook Chat, tweet @toyotacarlsbad, share our content and tag us, or comment on our advertisements floating around on Facebook. The top eight nominated charities will be moved on to the voting round, so nominate away! Please note, you can only nominate a charity once, but you are free to nominate more than one charity! 

How to Vote: On August 8, 2017 we will be releasing our voting form with the top eight nominated charities on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, and our website. The voting ballot will be live from August 8, 2017 to September 8, 2017. You will be able to vote for up to four charities included on the ballot. You may only vote once. Please feel free to share the ballot with your social network.

We Care, You Choose 2016 Charity Eligibility Requirements

Qualifying Charities: Charities must be IRS-recognized 501 (c) (3)s and may not be political or lobbying organizations and should not discriminate based on race, gender, or creed. Charities may not serve their own membership exclusively (such as fraternal groups). 

The Toyota USA Match Process: Dealer applies online, providing brief information about the charity. The charity will be vetted by a third party to confirm that the charity meets the basic guidelines. Upon confirmation, Toyota Carlsbad and charity will be notified via email that the charity is eligible to formally apply online to the Toyota Dealer Match Program. Within the email notification, there will be a link directing the charity to a site where the charity will apply. Upon final approval, Toyota Carlsbad and the charity will be notified and a check will be sent to the charity. If for any reason the charity is not approved, Toyota Carlsbad will be notified with full details.
